Who is eligible to use Marine Airfare?

Marine Airfares must be used only by the active crew members either working onboard a seagoing vessel or who are in the process of joining or leaving a vessel whilst on duty. In addition, Staff employed to work on a vessel, but not a registered seaman but who are added to the manifest can also use Marine Airfare.

What documents will be asked to a seafarer at the time of boarding?

At boarding, the airline will request any or all of the following documents to verify marine fare eligibility:

  • A valid current seaman’s book or Crew Id.
  • An original and current letter of employment or contract letter from:
    • A cruise line company
    • A cruise line concessionaire (salon, spa, casino, entertainment, etc.)
    • An authorized crewing agency.
  • A letter of appointment issued by the ship owner or the vessel, authorizing an individual to board a vessel for the purpose of performing services on board (for service engineers and/or contractors).

What happens if I do not carry required crew document at the time of boarding?

If you fail to carry or not being able to produce seaman documents upon demand by the airline, you may be denied to board the aircraft or you will be required to purchase a replacement ticket at whatever applicable fare exists at that time.

Can a spouse or children avail marine airfare? If yes, what documents they have to produce at the time of boarding?

Yes. Spouse/Children of a seaman travelling to/from vessel and who has been added to the ship’s manifest can use marine airfare. They must have a letter of authorization on letterhead of the shipping company or cruise line which confirms that they are joining the ship to meet active crew member, stating the passenger's name, the date of travel as well as the name and the location of the vessel and its destination ports and the crew member's position of employment on board. There are no discounted fares for youths and infants.

Note: Some airlines do not allow taking marine airfare for Spouse/Children. Please speak to our experts or mails us to verify the airline before booking the flight.

What benefits do a seafarer gets in taking Marine Airfare ticket?

Seafarer gets benefit of paying special negotiated marine Airfare rates, very less cancellation fee and they get benefit of 40KG / 2PC baggage allowances.

Can I use marine fare if am going for tourist or business purpose?

No. If you are not a seafarer you can’t use Marine Airfare for your leisure or business trip.

How can I change the date of my flight booking?

Date change may be permissible on your booking on payment of Date Change fee and the fare difference that may exist due to availability on higher fare. You would need to get in touch with our Customer Care Helpline to do any change of flights in your booking. Please click on our Manage My Booking tab to cancel & rebook your flight. Our online service lets you cancel and rebook your flight by selecting the sectors you wish to cancel in quick time.

Note: If you wish to change your existing flight booking to another operated airline, you will need to cancel your existing booking and make a fresh booking

How can I cancel my flight tickets?

You would need to get in touch with our Customer Care Helpline to cancel your flight booking or you may visit our Manage My Booking tab to cancel your booking online. Our online service lets you cancel your flight by selecting the sectors you wish to cancel or cancel your complete booking in quick time.

When I can expect my refund against the cancellation of my ticket?

Once you have cancelled your booking, the refund is processed by us to the same mode of payment. We usually process the refund within 7 working days of cancellation. However, for the amount to reflect in your bank or credit card account is dependent on the time taken by your bank thereon. For any discrepancies and delays, kindly check directly with your bank or credit card company. Where the User has cancelled his/her booking directly with the airlines, he/she will need to inform us with valid documentation to initiate the refund process. It is advisable to contact us within 48 hours of the cancellation request. Any later would require the User to send a scanned copy of your E-Ticket endorsed by the airlines to us.

How can I get copy of my E-Ticket?

We’ll send your E–Ticket details to the email address provided by you at the time of reservation.

How much baggage can I carry on the flight as a seafarer?

On International flights rules regarding free baggage allowance may vary by airline, area of travel, destination, frequent flyer membership and other factors. Please refer to individual airline policies and regulations for confirmation. You may find baggage allowance printed in your E-Ticket copy. For baggage size, weight and additional baggage charges we advise you to visit the airline site or kindly contact our Customer Care Helpline to guide you.

What should I do if I am not carrying my E-Ticket copy to the airport?

If you forget to carry a printout of your E-Ticket, you will need to go to the concerned airline counter at the airport and request for an E-Ticket copy by providing the PNR number of your reservation. You can find the PNR Number printed on your ticket. If you find it difficult to trace, kindly contact our team to help you.

How should I pay for my booked flight?

You may pay by credit or debit card using our online system. We accept Visa, Master & American Express Cards. Even 3D secure Internet banking option is available for easy payment options.

I still haven’t received my refund. What should do I do?
